Types
The only reliable method of cataloging cloud chamber tracks in a
reasonable amount of time is to make a movie and sort through the
frames. Second best is to take hundreds of digital photographs and sort
through them. As of 12/23/2004 I've run the cloud chamber five times
and taken about 600 digital photographs. Of these perhaps 10-20% show
events but these are really only warm-up runs. To do this properly:
Some important things to lock down:
1. A good high-resolution camera on a tripod (or two synchronized
cameras).
2. A glass-wall chamber with excellent illumination geometry.
3. Some rulers placed inside the chamber.
Until this happens the path catalog is going to be entirely
hypothetical/anecdotal. This experiment is still on the ToDo list.
