"A common misconception--and very sad--is that we are each given the right to decide whether we 'believe in evolution' as if it were an Act of Faith.  Nothing could be more misleading.  The choice we actually make is whether we choose to learn why evolution is both a theory and a fact.  Evolution is simply correct whether or not anyone 'believes in it'. Those who subscribe to the act-of-faith fantasy are often unable to correctly define the words 'evolution', 'theory', and 'fact'. In consequence we waste enormous amounts of precious time attempting to educate these adults who never learned the foundation of biological science when they were in school.  This raises the question: What were they doing?  What were their teachers doing?"
